"Dinosaurios" - Obra de

Gonzalo Álvarez, artista
ambiental comprometido con el cuidado del planeta, tiene la convicción de que
debemos fomentar desde la infancia una conciencia ecológica. Nos muestra cómo
los niños viven en un mundo que a menudo no recibe suficiente atención de la
sociedad, las instituciones e incluso de sus propias familias.
Su trabajo como tallerista en
espacios educativos lo acerca constantemente a la niñez, lo que le permite
conectar con la voz de la infancia y crear obras a partir de una genuina
empatía hacia los más pequeños. En su obra, no olvida los deseos y sentimientos
de los niños, sino que los incorpora plenamente.
La obra "Dinosaurios"
tiene un significado especial para el artista porque surge de un vínculo único
con un niño que lo cautivó con su cariño y entusiasmo por hacer arte junto a
sus compañeros. Este niño lo recibió con un abrazo y le mostró sus dinosaurios
en miniatura que llevaba consigo. En ese emotivo intercambio, el niño le preguntó:
"Gonzalo, ¿cuándo vas a hacer dinosaurios?".
Aquella misma tarde, Gonzalo le
prometió que comenzaría inmediatamente a esbozar dinosaurios. Así es como
inició el proceso de creación, estudiando y desarrollando posibles escenarios.
Este mismo enfoque lo aplica en sus clases de arte con niños, donde inicia un
proceso creativo que ellos continúan con gran imaginación y creatividad,
respaldados por sus docentes.
"Los chicos me invitan a ser
parte de su mundo. Estar a su altura tiene sus ventajas. A ellos les fascina
jugar con los dinosaurios, ya que a través de este juego, desarrollan su
comprensión del mundo y estimulan sus capacidades cognitivas y sensitivas. En
esta etapa de sus vidas, están explorando y definiendo la frontera entre lo
real y lo imaginario. Mi labor como artista es acompañarlos en este proceso
siempre", comenta Gonzalo.
El artista sostiene que el arte
fortalece el vínculo afectivo y, a través de colores y formas lúdicas, los
niños y niñas aprenden a amar a los animales y las plantas, generando una
conciencia que perdurará en sus vidas. Por eso, uno de estos niños, con la
sabiduría propia de la infancia, le dijo: "no dejes nunca de pintar
Gonzalo, no dejes nunca de pintar animales".
Los invito a observar y
reflexionar sobre esta obra que nació del genuino interés de un niño y que
representa sus intereses. Los animo también a investigar las cinco especies que
aparecen en la obra: TYRANNOSAURUS REX, TRICERATOPS, PARASAUROLOPHUS,
VELOCIRAPTOR, UNENGALIA COMAHUENSIS.
"Dinosaurios" es la voz
de la infancia, la duda, el estudio, la conciencia y el amor por el planeta y
todas sus especies, tanto las actuales como las extintas. Valorémosla por la
sensibilidad exquisita que transmite el artista a través de ella.

Gonzalo Álvarez, an environmental artist
committed to caring for the planet, believes that we must instill ecological
awareness from childhood. He shows us how children live in a world that often
doesn't receive enough attention from society, institutions, and even their own
families.
His work as an educator in educational spaces
constantly brings him close to childhood, allowing him to connect with the
voice of infancy and create artworks based on genuine empathy towards the
little ones. In his artwork, he doesn't forget the wishes and feelings of the
children, but rather incorporates them fully.
The artwork "Dinosaurs" holds a
special meaning for the artist as it arises from a unique bond with a child who
captivated him with affection and enthusiasm for creating art with his peers.
This child greeted him with a hug and showed him the miniature dinosaurs he
carried along. In that emotional exchange, the child asked him, "Gonzalo,
when will you make dinosaurs?"
That very afternoon, Gonzalo promised him that
he would immediately start sketching dinosaurs. This is how he began the
creative process, studying and developing possible scenarios. He applies the
same approach in his art classes with children, where he initiates a creative
process that they continue with great imagination and creativity, supported by
their teachers.
"The children invite me to be part of
their world. Being at their level has its advantages. They love to play with
dinosaurs, as through this play, they develop their understanding of the world
and stimulate their cognitive and sensory abilities. At this stage of their
lives, they are exploring and defining the boundary between reality and
imagination. My role as an artist is to always accompany them in this process,"
Gonzalo comments.
The artist believes that art strengthens the
emotional bond, and through playful colors and forms, boys and girls learn to
love animals and plants, fostering awareness that will endure throughout their
lives. Therefore, one of these children, with the wisdom typical of childhood,
told him, "never stop painting, Gonzalo, never stop painting
animals."
I invite you to observe and reflect on this
artwork born from the genuine interest of a child, representing their
interests. I also encourage you to investigate the five species depicted in the
artwork: TYRANNOSAURUS REX, TRICERATOPS, PARASAUROLOPHUS, VELOCIRAPTOR,
UNENGALIA COMAHUENSIS.
"Dinosaurs" is the voice of
childhood, doubt, study, consciousness, and love for the planet and all its
species, both current and extinct. Let us appreciate it for the exquisite
sensitivity conveyed by the artist through it.
